RULES AND REGULATIONS TO BE OBSERVED IN THE COLLEGE
v ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
v The College will work regular during an academic year for
both theoretical & practical training of the Nursing
students
v A candidate must have minimum of 80% attendance in theory
and in each subject for appearing examination.
v A candidate must have mandatory 100% attendance in each of
the practical areas.
v The students should not be absent / take leave without
prior permission from the Principal. Any unauthorized
absence will be viewed seriously and liable for punishment.
v If the student is absent for continuous period of five
days & more, he / she shall will be prone to disciplinary
action. If a request is made to the Principal explaining the
reasons for his / her absence. If the Principal is fully
satisfied about the genuine of the explanations; the leave
will be considered
v If the student is unable to return on time after vacation
due to illness will submit a detail Medical Certificate with
history, treatment and advice which has to be attested.
v Day and night duty has to be undergone by students during
their hospital training in compulsory.
v Students returning late from leave/absentee without any
intimation are required to perform makeup duty of the hours
missed.
v ACADEMIC STANDARDS
v Students should attend all Tests and show Good academic
progress.
v Regularity in writing tests, assignments, presentations
and satisfactory performance of students in tests are
essential for permitting the students to appear for the
university examination at the end of the academic year.
v Regular and punctual attendance at lectures,
demonstration, practical’s, clinics and internal
examinations should be made.
v Academic requirements should be fulfilled before appearing
for the final council/University examinations.
v DISCIPLINE OF THE STUDENTS
v The students are required to maintain professional
discipline throughout their stay at the institute and hostel
during their course period.
v Discipline should be demonstrated during their hospital
training, community postings and class hours.
v Students are required to maintain Ethical and professional
standards in behavior both inside and outside the college,
hospital, hostel and community premises.
v No student is allowed to indulge themselves in any
malpractice/copying during the time of internals and
examinations concern.
v Students should maintain silence in the classes, library,
reading room and in the corridors.
v Students should make every effort to take care of the
college and hospital property and help in maintaining the
same. They should not write on the black board, scribble on
tables, chairs, walls etc.
v Students should greet the Lecturers when they see them for
the first time in the college/hospital/hostel etc.
v If the students have any problem, they should initially
inform the class representative and the class representative
will intimate it to the class coordinators. If the problem
is not solved at the class coordinator’s level, then the
class coordinator will present it to the Principal. No
students should by-pass the above mentioned channels.
Exceptions are allowed only if the problem is utmost
urgent/serious.
v Any compliant against the student from the concerned
authority of the hospital, community will be dealt strictly
by the college authority.
v For a breach of discipline, a student may be fined or
expelled from the institute and No refund will be allowed in
such cases.
v In all matter/discipline, decision of the managing
committee or the committee of the institution will be final.
v Students are required to wear full uniform during college
and hospital. Jewellery, ear rings, painted fingernails,
threads and bracelets on hands etc. are not allowed.
Students must wear white apron in college laboratories.
Students must be neat and tidy in their dress,a voiding
expensive clothes and exaggerated fashions.
v Students are required to carry their identity cards during
college hours, clinical and whenever they are going out and
must be produced whenever it is asked by the concerned
authority.
v Each student is responsible for the proper handling and
safe custody of any apparatus or equipment that he/she may
be using in different nursing labs. Misuse or negligence
will result in replacement of the particular by the
candidate. Any willful damage done to the property of the
college and hospital will be treated as breach of
discipline.
v Rules and regulation in
relation to students discipline will be enforce effectively
to maintain discipline and to keep up the decorum of the
College.
v Ragging is an offense.
Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college campus as well
as in the hostel. Any student/students involved in such
activities will be immediately expelled from the
institution. Both junior and senior students are required to
maintain cordial relationship with each other and a
disciplined atmosphere in the college campus.
v The use of mobile phone in
the premises or the College is strictly prohibited.
v Students should abide the
rules and regulations of the College and hostel strictly.
v Students are forbidden to
communicate with any outside authority directly. All such
communications must be submitted through the office of the
Principal. Any student infringing this rule is liable to be
suspended.
v If any student found in use of liquor or narcotics on
hospital duty or in institute premises, he/she will be
suspended from the institute for a specific period or be
expelled from the institution.
v Possession of weapons, explosive and other objectionable
material in institute/hostel will result in being expelled
from the institution.
v Taking active part in politics will result in being
expelled from the institution. Coming on hospital duty or
entering the institute premises in an un presentable
appearance will be liable to punishment.
v FEES
v Students are expected to pay all the fees due to
the College & Hostel before the said due date as notified by
the College from time to time, failing which she/he will not
be allowed to attend the exams.
v Fees once paid will not be refunded.
v
Vacation
a.
Medical Leaves – 5 days/academic year
b.
Casual Leaves – 10 days/academic year
Note:
Summer & winter vacations are observed in the
institute as per the notifications directed by the BFUHS
Faridkot and PNRC Chandigarh from time to
time.
